Favorite Family Memory: My favorite family memory is actually not a happy memory, but rather a life-changing memory. When my active son was 2 years old he fell off our dining table and started crying relentlessly. It is from this unfortunate accident that we learned he had a brain tumor. Treating his cancer temporarily and geographically tore our family apart, but it also brought us together for the long-term. His diagnosis changed my mindset about family, unconditional love, community, overcoming obstacles, and flexible goal-setting. What, at the time, was a nightmarish experience, now holds a special place in my heart.
