Favorite Family Memory: One spring break we took our sons, then ages 13 and 11, to New York City and Washington D.C. The boys loved New York and were really reluctant to leave. We visited many of historical highpoints of D.C., but our boys frequently complained that they enjoyed their time in New York more. I finally asked what about NYC had created such an impression. I thought maybe it was the ferry ride and visit to the Statue of Liberty, a play on Broadway, or maybe riding the subway. It was none of those things! Their favorite part of our time in New York was the hot dog stand on every corner! D.C. hot dogs just didn’t measure up!
