Foster Care Department

Students in foster care have specific rights based on several laws including the Every Student Succeeds Act, Assembly Bill 491, and the Uninterrupted Scholars Act. Each school principal selects a staff member to act in the role of school-based foster care advocate. This person works with the Foster Care Department to ensure students in foster care are afforded their rights and provided the same opportunities for academic success as all students in the district. For more information, please contact the foster care office at (702)799-1196.
